Inside Sales Coordinator

The Inside Sales Coordinator position reports to the Sales Manager and will be an active participant in the sales process with a primary goal of helping the team increase sales.

Responsibilities: Provide proactive internal support to the Sales, Marketing and Service Teams – prospecting, lead qualification, data entry, etc; interaction with customers, independent sales/service representatives and internal group to ensure that the needs of all customers and prospective customers are met in a timely and positive manner.

Job Function: Respond to all incoming inquiries, manage the leads and work with sales team to assure all leads are followed-up; respond to requests quickly (e.g. literature and quotation) keeping all parties informed of progress; coordinate direct mail and mass e-mail promotional campaigns with follow-up telemarketing; coordinate and track demo systems.

Internal Customer Advocate - Respond quickly and efficiently to all requests from customers; proactively obtain re-orders of consumables; manage information flow between customers and Groton; update status of orders and service requests; follow-up Customer Surveys; develop strong, ongoing relationships with customers.

Qualifications: Candidate should have an AS degree or equivalent and 2-3 years of related work experience. Good communications skills, both oral and written; exceptional organizational skills; ability to multi-task; willingness to adapt quickly to changing priorities and responsibilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with CRM a plus. Team player who can work independently, is a self-starter, can plan, organize and complete multiple projects while giving attention to detail and deadlines.

Engineering Manager

We have an immediate need for an Engineering Manager, who is a highly-motivated and can coach and develop people, formulate and implement strategy, and plan and execute tactically.  The successful candidate will be experienced at working closely with senior management to align priorities and create a sense of urgency to ensure successful completion of programs and tasks.   The candidate must have project management experience, and be able to establish and communicate project plans that enable effective cross-disciplinary development.  This position requires a manager who is hands on and will contribute to the design while managing scarce resources (time, personnel, and money).

This position will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Plan and execute new product development and product improvement programs per senior management defined goals
  • Maintain and monitor Documentation Control process.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals and ensures regular feedback, coaching, and communication for engineering personnel
  • Contribute to product development/improvements through hands on engineering design input
  • Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • BS Engineering Degree
  • 5-10 years experience in instrument design and development
  • 2-5 years engineering management experience
  • Experience with Solidworks is desirable
  • Ability to function in a dynamic start-up environment

Instrument Manufacturing Assembly/Test Technician

The work involves assembly and test of mechanical, electrical and fluidic subsystems and completed instruments.  Careful documentation of all work is required.  Familiarity with computer and the Windows environment is a requirement.  The qualified candidate should be an excellent communicator, experienced in assembly and test of laboratory instrumentation, well organized and conscientious about meeting company goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow written procedures to:
    • Assembly of mechanical, electrical and fluidic subassemblies and completed instruments.
    • Testing of mechanical, electrical and fluidic subassemblies and completed instruments.
    • Record test results as dictated by company and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze test results and utilize the information provided to troubleshoot defects and correct the problems.
  • Provide input for continuous improvement by identifying means for cost reduction and yield improvements.
  • Assist in the development of assembly and test procedures.
  • Support production plan
  • Interact with engineering during the development of new products to ensure that they can be easily assembled and tested.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, neat and organized manner
  • Identify training and safety needs for the work area.
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • A.S. in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with assembly and test of laboratory or medical instrumentation
  • Familiar with computers and the Windows environment
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Must be organized and willing to learn
  • Must have good written and verbal communications skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
